Film South Asia

Film South Asia, run by the non-profit SouthAsia Trust, is a leading biennial film festival set up in 1997 with the goal of popularising the documentary for its entertaining, informative and transformative value.

Over the 14 editions of the festival held so far, Film South Asia has organised screenings, discussions and workshops to promote Southasian non-fiction, driven by a commitment to preserve and uphold the region’s complexity, diversity, and uniqueness. It is inspired by a firm belief in the power of the cinematic medium in offering representation, inviting introspection, and leading grass-roots change.

For Kos Minar 2026, Film South Asia has curated the films Taangh, 6-A Akash Ganga, When Pomegranate Turns Grey, Muktir Gaan, and The Journey Within: The Coke Studio Origin Story.
